ExperienceI tutor GMAT, SAT, and high-school maths to students in and around Amsterdam. My approach to Math is that it is a language. Success depends on knowing the grammar and the vocabulary - a language, with synonyms and dialects and traditions from across the globe and from centuries ago. This facet is too-little emphasized by the conventional curriculum, and this lack of attention is at the root of the Math phobia and misunderstanding, for many students.
In my experience of tutoring, it is possible to facilitate an "accelerated re-creation" of the language. My single best achievement is being able to explain the concepts that all successful Mathematicians take for granted, and yet so few know to explain.

HobbiesMy main mission in life is to love what I do and to grow as a person, and I love new information - especially when it's useful. I read and watch films and documentaries, and I love to hear what other people are working on. I am working on a book to re-introduce people to Mathematics, and I sleep less and less these days!
